Yes, it was a hugely popular kids show here in the UK, for about twenty years.
I did some research in Wiki, apparently the above clip was made for the Thames TV staff Christmas tape in 1979 and was never actually aired (thank God!).
Geoffrey (to viewers): "It's time for us all to go now, but don't forget to get your twangers out and play with your balls. And if you haven't got any balls, you can always play with somebody else's".

Bishop,
You don't know how relieved I am to hear that. For a moment, I thought maybe the world had gone peculiar on me. Then I wondered if it were possible that the world had always been that peculiar, and maybe I'd just been too wrapped up in my own pathetic little existence to notice it.
Then I downloaded some beautiful agonies, and forgot all about it... what were
we talking about ? ? ? ?
Sure, whatever... you know...
Me... whoever I am....

Ah yes, the good old days when being a child tv presenter was fun... really, the kids don't get it! It reminds me of another classic, Captain Pugwash with characters Master Bates and Seaman Stains. Yes, it's true, and still playing on the ABC in the early 90's. Let's not forget how delicious is truly black humour. The PC brigade are a truly boring bunch who don't understand what humour is about. It's meant to push boundaries... we laugh because we know we shouldn't! It makes us realise where the boundaries are.+6

He was actually called Master Mate, though sometimes the pronunciation could be a bit off... perhaps intentionally XD
There was no Seaman Staines, but there is however a Pirate Willy

He must have been a guest appearance then, or else my memory is sketchy!
