Funnily I have the strong wish to understand the sense behind the names of some members. But I give my best and have no idea to find out what e.g. *dinhnghi*, *mxlpyk*, *yYYYYy*, *piyushrvyas* (my present favorite!) or *vsfvsfv* will tell me...
Anybody there to help me?

I know what you mean Jo, I'd love to know what a 'syzygy' is! And is Msnevil trying to make a statement about the evils of the Microsoft corporation I wonder?

...And you're really the Bishop?

Why of course I am!
Seriously though, the (baby-eating) Bishop of Bath & Wells was a character in an episode from my favourite ever comedy, namely Blackadder. So now you know.

I like the old bluesmasters: Howlin' Wolf, Muddy Waters, Lightnin' Hopkins, John Lee Hooker...guys like that.
My beloved, Lucretia, took her handle from Lucretia Borgia, a totally amoral and vicious member of the Medici in Renaissance Italy.

Hi Bish, my friend!
"Syzygy" means a perfect alignment of the sun, moon, and earth in a straight line. By choosing this name, I'm implying that I have all my stuff straight.
Of course, watching the agonees makes one part of me get very straight in a hurry.
(IF you know what I mean.) :-)

Possibly one of the funniest shows to have screened here -- loved it!
Ell is a very simple play on the first letter of my name -- the name of the female character in the first piece of erotic fiction I ever wrote, my blog alter ego and a bit of nickname. Oh, and easy for me to remember!

Hmmm... I'd like to think that I'm a pretty complex guy -- but hey, I live in sunny Southern California, so, well, DUDE! No, I don't surf.

And it implied for me that you are female (french. "elle" = "she")...
Oh yes! Easy to remember is an important reason (also for me, meaning, we all are a bit lazy, arent´t we?)

I can confidently and without hesitation confirm that the implication of femaleness is correct. There's an Italian connection to "ella" = she in the literary form.

Well, apart from the fact that I'm a pretty peaceful fellow, my nick is rather accurate and lacking in mystery, I'm afraid...

Nevertheless it sounds great...

Great topic, Jo!
I owe my own nickname to a very comical friend of mine from years ago. He did pranks, impressions, and even had a few quality stand-up routines -- one of which he had "shared" as his "gift" at a Sunday gathering his mother dragged him to! Needless to say, it did not go over as well as he had planned. Those were some great stories....
Anyway, one of his impression routines was "Evil Elmo," a very adult version of the pink Sesame Street character. Eventually, a friend got him a "tickle-me-elmo" doll -- it moves and talks and makes giggling noises, which I'm told are very creepy when not in a normal state of mind . One night, in the middle of the night, he rolled over on top of it, and the thing nearly gave the poor guy a heart attack!
We had a bawdy discussion one time on the theme of "<something>-me-elmo" -- I think we can all use our imaginations on that one. Then, for whatever reason, I decided to use one of those creative variants as a screen name with an online service.
From there, it's just something easy to remember. Cheers!

Oh yeah,
The "PC" part is nothing fancy or complicated -- just initials!

"Two of my favorite things" is a different statement than "my two favorite things"...
...the second statement is connected with why I'm here...;)

Mine is based on my name and the site name; I use a different username at every site, with the initials and number chosen via a simple algorithm and the "agny" part an obvious shortening of the site name. No special meaniing or significance.
