Oh perfection - three beautiful agonees in a row, 427 to 429, all have lovely dark hair in their armpits! Just my own little kink, bu I do find underarm hair SUCH a turn-on!

Feet, bellies, armpits, ears, lower backs/midriffs, backsides, etc. : what can be downright disgusting to some can also be very sexy for others. Women letting their armpit hair grow may be more of a European thing (or maybe it was when we were growing up ), but seeing it as a turn-on has no borders!

Garybob, have you been in Europe recently or less recently? I know the trend is to hair removing not only in the armpits but everywhere on the body. First the girls did it, now a certain number of men does it too. The trend is like a wave, it's cyclic, comes and goes and comes again just like the length of girls skirt. I like the girls of AW where you can find all tendencies among the girls, completely shaved or natural. Both are OK for me.

When I was in Europe, I saw an enormous amount of body hair on women. Even saw some with hair on their nipples [a truely scary thing]. I don't know what the trend is there but heavy body hair on a woman is not a turn-on for me. I find also that women who have lots of body hair tend to be more odorous....as in B.O. The bad kind!
Nothing worse than picking pubic hair from your teeth after giving cunnilingus!!

Squeeze me, but women who are natural have no more, er, "BO" than men. I prefer organic over artiface anytime. Go earth women! The cuter the better, bien sur. Vive les natuarlists!

I disagree, and it stands up to logic - the hair is a wick so it can increase the evaporation and therefore the amount of aromatic particles in the air. However I also disagree with the previous post - as long as people wash, there is only a good kind of B.O.!
Offline
That's assuming that people wash!!!
Rumor is that many women in Europe don't bath daily like we do here in the states. The bad kind of B.O. is more excepted there. Now before anyone gets all "odorous" on me here, I don't know this to be necessarily true. However, it is a claim that I have heard made quite often. Of course, I have never been with an , eh hem, "earth-woman" and perhaps that is a reason why.
As to this aromatic particle thing....Richard you have a way of saying things in a rather scientific way. So, for those of us who are scientifically challenged, allow me to rephrase your statement a bit:
the hair is a wick so it can increase the evaporation and therefore the amount of RAW STANK particles in the air.
Yep, that should clear things up!

Uri, I do have liberties from Ishoymyself in my HOF. BTW, in the UK, a lot of the females are obsessed with shaving everything off; something I dont like. The other thing dont like at all is sweating - very few young women do sports and some will only do activities that make them sweat in an all women only environment. That is so pathetic - hair and sweats are all natural.
However, you are slightly right about some parts of Europe where the women dont think it is totally essential to shave. But, I think the reason is that a lot of them are comfortable with themselves and in their relationships. The best paintings of women, so called classics are of voluptuous and haired women (at least pussy* hair). I know you like the p-word, GaryBob...
Europeans not having regular baths is a thing of the past, you want see how much money is spent here on bathrooms and DIY especially from women who are increasing self dependent, living alone and loaded.

Chay, I don't see the connection between body hair and feeling comfortable with one's self. In fact, an argument can be made that the opposite is true, hey? An abundance of hair serves to mask certain imperfections that might otherwise be apparent.
Moreover, an abundance of pubic hair gives, in my view, the appearance of a species below that of homo sapien.
As to the "P" word, I am not so enthralled by that word. In fact, I find it kind of vulgar. I am always kind of shocked when a woman uses it and that's why I was taken aback.
While I am relatively comfortable not challenging you on the bathing habits of european women, still the wolly-mammoth look is still something that I find a bit repulsive if for no stronger reason than the odor. Particular......down there!!!
But hey, that's just me!

And you know this because........??? And just curious if she has roots from europe??
In any case, I am sure that many American women are overly hairy as well. Come to think of it, I was once, and only once, with a woman who had so much hair you needed a 450 horse-powered lawn mower to find the cave. T'was a real problem. Like having way too much shredded lettuce on a taco!

Gary,
Come on! To say having hair is a way of covering up imperfections is absurd. You dont like hair on women, fine but try and come up with better counters.
It takes a lot of courage for a woman to go against the grain of the media perception of beauty. To have hair is to make a statement that I dont want to follow everyone else.
Anyway, there is a difference between not shaving once in a while and being a hairy woman.

Hi, Ms 0160 here. BA folk pointed me towards this thread where I was being discussed (ohmigod, that's ME they're talking about! that's ME!!! woah!) and I first have to say, THANKS! that's very nice of you to compliment me like that. And I confirm my birthplace, though it's funny you should mention Europe...
I was living with a host family in Aix-en-Provence (southern France) and went back years later to visit ma seour down there, and she being about my age, at the time maybe 20 and she didn't shave her legs and her boy was cool with it. First time I saw that, I think.
As far as odor goes, I'm not one to shower every day, I'll admit. I also do lots of exercise, long-distance jogging, walking on my hands, climbing things, general nut case. Yeah after a huge work out I can get that stale sweat smell if I don't rinse off, but as far as "BO" goes, that has more to do with diet than anything else. When hubby ate some dodgy Indian food a few months again, he reeked for about 2 days. (Never again is he allowed there!) If I eat lots and lots of onions, I'll have a bit of odor. Otherwise, I'm pretty good when I eat well. (For the record I rarely eat meat and almost always eat organic...never soda or processed foods...yeah i'm one of those!)
write back...i'll be reading.

Cool.
I am curious as to the effect of diet on ordinary odor. Garlic and onions and such make sense, but are there perhaps some common foods we might not expect to contribute to an offensive aura that do?

Chay, I really was not making the statement that having hair is a way of covering up imperfections but merely saying that such an argument COULD be made. And I don't see why it would be an absurd one for reasons that are pointless to get into here.
I agree that it takes courage to go against the grain. Not just for women but men also. Hell, for anyone. Like backing off instead of looking for a reason to argue when there really is no reason for it!
No attempt is being made to "counter" anything....at least not in this thread. Just stating my opinion like everyone else. What exactly do you find hostile in this?

PCelmo:
Diet definately does have an affect on B.O. The body's excretory system works through the skin as well as the more commonly understood places. Sweat glands release chemicals in the body that are no longer needed from what is taken in in the form of food and drink. Without getting more technical than neccessary, you sweat out what you take in once the body is done doing whatever it does.

Hi 0160!
You are surprised because somebody wrote about your past contributions, same as I was by riding your unexpected answer what makes me really glad.
As an enthusiastic BA-fan, I have collected all the contris. So it was easy to find your folder, because it was marked by three !!!s; that means, «excellent!»
As I can see, you are a woman who is enjoying to be free, dancing in the nature and feel in harmony together with all the essence and also the thousands of scents. Oh.... I smell the aroma of «Herbes the Provence»!
Even thought I like to smell a freshly showered and perfumed body, but I think, the most erotic scent for a man is the endogenous odour of the woman hes in love.
Its interesting, the mans opinions about hairy female bodies are extremely different. For one group its complete disgusting for the others it is the big sexual turn on.
Please, dont remove one hair of your beautiful body! But of course, thats my taste only.
A happy new year to all BAs and BA fans,
Uri

oh you boys (and girls?)...your opinions are just that: opinions. And to each his own. To those who aren't particular fans of body hair, I accept and appreciate that as well. Often I am just as confused by the amount of fluff that sits right above where my legs meet. Why is it so curly when the hair atop my head is so straight? And why does it shed when I'm excited about a hot evening out??
Actually i'm just really flattered by all this attention so much later in the game, as well as very interested in the discussion at hand. Some days I think I smell like pencil lead (graphite), though none of my friends including Hubby concur. Some days I smell really f**king good I must admit, and other days I shower twice between rising and returning to the covers.
I often find hair, like armpit hair or chest hair, on men attractive when the man on a whole is quite self-assured and good-natured. I find back hair on men displeasing when the man is either quite arrogant or very slouchy and under-confident.
Please, keep writing about body hair/smells/turn-ons and -offs!
xx

See, now I like your personality. None of what has been said thus far has affected or upset you at all. You have a healthy sense of self and the fact that I or anyone would disapprove of the "amount of fluff" you refer to is okay with you.
I don't give kudos often but I am surely giving major kudos to you. Most of the people here go absolutely bersurk when one who isn't "currying favor with the crowd" voices an opinion they don't share. You have demonstrated precisely the sort of sane and cogent maturity that one would expect to find among rational adults.
And quite unlike what some have feared, you did not run off and hide or refuse to participate in the forum just because there was mention that some find an abundance of hair unattractive.
I hope that there will be many more like you here in the future.
