Don't know if anybody noticed, but it seems that since the 12-11 the number of subscribers to this discussion board has exploded. All the months since the site exists, there have been roughly 1500 members registered. And then in ONE day (!!!) there came nearly 5000 newbies???
Was there any free membership offer and I missed something? Or do the peeps in Australia get their presents earlier than in good old germany??? lol
Or is it just a bug and I am only too stupid to notice?

I noticed the other day that this forum suddenly had a huge number of registered members (something like 7,700 at the last count!), but surely this has to be a bug............there's only about a couple of dozen regular posters!
What gives, Shannon?

I'm not Shannon but I know the answer. We upgraded the software and the database we imported included all lapsed forum users.

Does that mean, that all these 5000 users will never post in the forum?
OUF! I already was frightened to have to read posts of 5000 people now......

What happened is that there was a mention of this sight in an issue of ESQUIRE magazine. It's what got me to pop in and check things out. I'm still working out the details of actually joining, but I'm certainly enjoying the discussions here until then.

RMD54, I promise you won't be disappointed if/when you join............why not treat yourself to an early Christmas present?

Welcome RMD54, and all others who are silently enjoying the show.
I think this brings up a very interesting bit of things: How did each of us first find out about this site? Clearly, there'll be a lot now who first saw it in ESQUIRE, but what about those of us who were already here?
I believe in giving credit where credit is due, and for myself, I blame a loud-mouth named Colin Quinn. For a time, he had this delightfully obnoxious talk-show on Comedy Central called "Tough Crowd," and one night he had a segment on Beautiful Agony. I don't really remember anything anybody said about it, but I do know that's were I heard about it. I checked it out, and a handful of lovely faces (one in particular, but that's another story altogether) tipped the scales for me to jump on board.
So, yeah, if there's any special bonus for getting BA mentioned in prominent places, that should definitely go to Mr. Quinn and whoever brought it to his attention. But back on the subject -- how did everyone else find out about it?

...there's only about a couple of dozen regular posters!
(BTW) As of today, I see 70 members with 10 or more posts, out of 7124 on the roster.
Even so, it is getting difficult to keep up . . . .

I first came across BA when doing a search on Yahoo for sites devoted to female orgasms. Previously, similar searches had led me to nothing but dreadful no-brain porn sites, I nearly fell out of my seat when I realised what BA was all about..............a happy moment indeed!

PC elmo, you can't tease us like that and not say which was your first 'special' agony.............spill the beans!

One year ago I read an article on www.nerve.com about BA and decided to check it out... Still here and still very very content!

I read something about BA on an online article somewhere. I decided to check it out. The very next day I saw the Esquire thing.

I am curious to know how people first found out about this site, but of course, I don't mean to run away with someone else's thread...

Just think, Jo, how daunting this may look from the perspective of a new member, just joining the forum now -- already over 400 topics and nearly 4000 posts!!! That's a lot of reading, even just to keep up with the first couple of pages. Add to that, say, 20 to 60 each week? It's amazing, in a way, that we keep having as many new and regular posters as we do now.
