I never said anything to the contrary ("Chiquitita", "The day before you came", ...).
I'm a younger appreciator of Abba. I was born in '79, so I got into their music when the "Gold" collections were released. I really like "The Day Before You Came." When I was in high school, I took a class in creating color slides, and one of our assignments was to do a music "video" in photographs. I did the video to that song, since it's completely narrative and was easy to set to images. I used my little sister, who was about 8 at the time, dressed her up in a little suit, made her look all professional, took pictures of her on the subway and in the office where my mother worked, depicting all the lines in the song. During the instrumental part at the end of the song, I had one of our family friends, a little boy who is actually a few years younger than my sister, arrive at her door with flowers. It was very cute. I still have those slides somewhere, I wish I had a projector so I could look at them again. Just thought I'd share that Abba-related story .

this thread is going to send me digging thru old boxes looking for my ABBA vinyl.... or did I trade them for my PONG console? you know, my grandmother's generation lived from the horse-and-buggy days to jumbo jets, and I always thought that was pretty cool, but my generation lived from black and white TV to Beautiful Agony... way, way cooler.

OK, I may as well 'fess up here before someone presumes my handle derives from names people call me. :-)
It's actually the name of the main character of a science fiction radio comedy I wrote - Ace Holy and the Stellar Commandos. A satire of everything from Stars Trek and Wars to other sci-fi classics... surprisingly, it's a non-cursing yet innuendo laden journey into stereotypes on parade. Actually - maybe that's not so surprising. :-)
There were about 15 episodes actually produced back in the early 90's - but I retooled the show about 4 years ago in attempt to launch it as an internet Flash animation. Unfortunately the animation studio that had offered to draw the episodes went under.
If anyone would care to read some scripts, I can be easily convinced to send some over. :-)

I guess my userID is pretty self-explanatory. A friend of mine showed me a couple of agonies to try to "recruit" me, and ms. #288 did the trick! I'll probably join up tomorrow to be able to see more of the beautiful women and their agonies .
To the admins: Will we get a #288 overkill? I sincerely hope so!

I have a query for Miss kelly tubgirl jones : have you by any chance made an appearance or two on this site? Several contributors have joined in on the forum, and the very first Overkill was a "tubgirl."
And if this is not the case, where, praytell, does "tubgirl" really come from? (you don't have to answer if you don't want to, of course -- no pressure. Just encouraging participation ... and genuously curious)

When I hear "tubgirl," I think of one thing and one thing only(though I wish I didn't!) There's a photo that's been circulating through the internet for some time now. An awful photo of a woman in bathtub. I really don't want to describe more. Trust me that it's not pretty.
My guess is that Kelly has added the nickname "tubgirl" as a joke. Hopefully, she'll enlighten us.

Garybob is a nickname given to me in H.S. many moons ago. I was born in the South. Some friends therefore added the "bob" to my name and it kinda stuck!

Call me old-fashioned, but I call myself Glenswift because it's my name......(?!)
I could, of course, use my native American tribal name that my ancestors in the Ummy-gum-gum tribe gave me; and which derives from that other British comedy classic.."Bottom".., and call myself "Squatting Neville"!
But why bother?

I'm not so inventive, either, really. Tonning is the first of my two last names. It's after my grandmother.

How about if some of you give me a hint of the meaning behind?
