itunes 6 plays quicktimes at full screen, and you can be all overly organised and catalogue your vids via playlists.
I deem it rad.

Phewww...
And how about spyware/adware? I have had an intention to use it for a time now, but never had the time or mood to inspect about this. I'd be surprised if it left your machine without crap.
Anybody deeper informed?

Shannon, what a very clever idea to use iTUNES to list the videos and see them on a full screen. Thanks

Silly question perhaps, but will iTunes play anything else than quicktime-files?

I think on computer Itunes works only on Macintosh ones.

Itunes is also available for Win XP. I had this program but prefer the WMP.

Yeah, iTunes works fine for windows, but I have somehow not been able to import video files to its library, so I thought maybe it only plays .mov. Anyone care to enlighten me?

Jo, thanks for additional details about Itunes. I would just add that Itunes is an APPLE (Macintosh) software and their Ipod is probably the most popular device of that kind. I am glad to see Itunes being available on Windows. It's a good sign to see APPLE adapts to other softwares. There is so many good things with APPLE (like high quality) that it would be a shame to keep it for themselves. I can compare since I work with both computers (PC and MAC) but my personal one is a MAC.

It does nothing - unless you choose it to connect to the internet - which you have to do to be able to play music from the iTunes Music Store. But this is only a one-time registration with Apple. The only information stored at Apple is a identifier of your computer (the serial number as far as I remember, when you use a Mac). After that, iTunes never again requires a internet connection since the DRM info is stored on your own computer. Unless you want to buy music of course...
But if you don't want to send even the slightest shred of info to Apple, you don't have to.

At least on a Mac, it can play all movie files that Quicktime can read. These are not only .mov-files but also - for instance - .avi, including DivX and stuff (when the appropiate codecs are installed).

Hm... well, the thing is, my very intention with it would be to download from iTunes. No kidding.

Okay, but it really doesn't send much information to the iTMS. Apart from sending your log-in informations, it just identifies your computer (to set the DRM on the downloaded songs).
This is not very much, but it depends on you if you want to avoid even sharing this little information. This is unluckily the price we have to pay for DRM - although it's relatively low with iTunes.

Yes, so I noticed. But the whole program is way too resource heavy, so I think I'll just use it as a jukebox, and leave videos to something a bit less CPU taxing.
