I had this dream yesterday that you could put anything on a pizza. Some kind of italian thing, I really thought of a spaghetti pizza. I'm not sure what's wrong with me.

There's a place up the road which does wierd pizzas - they have a white choclate and peach model, whcih is a bit much for my tummy, but the nachos pizza is good.

Speaking about pizza, do you know it's the most popular food in world. Why? Because  the pizza can be adapted to any taste in the world. Adaptation, this is the key to grow up. That's why BA should keep on to adapt in order to fulfil what the male and female members want.

I had to eat spaghetti pizza in New Zealand, so I fear it really does exist!  It was pretty gross, as I recall.  I've had a chocolate pizza which was fantastic though.

Also, well, the most popular food as reported by FOA is rice (no big surprise for the thousands in Asia), but you really can do anything with rice!

For me, I'm partial to variations that break the norm but that you could actually get at some pizza places, like a pesto or barbecue sauce.

True, this may fit better on the "General" side of the aisle, but erdna did try to bring it back to BA.  Pizza vendors adapt their menus, but customers tend to grab onto favorites.  And there's always the possibility of opening another restaurant . . . . ("Mamma mia!" is right!)

Not to keep the momentum continuing the way it has, but...

There is a pizza shop near me that will put anything you want on a pizza. They have 100's of toppings including caviar, egg, jalapeno peppers and goodness knows what else. And if they don't have what you want, give them an hour and if they can't get it, within reason of course, the pizza is free. The only problem is that those highly exotic pizzas can range from $10.00 to $40.00 per 12 inch pie.

Tellin, a pizza house offering 100+ type of toppings, this is what I call adaptation. And I bet you return to that place quite often. Check with SUBWAY submarines (in North America), same approach. We told them their submarine bread was too soft and we wanted some crusty one. They got it.

Tellin, a pizza house offering 100+ type of toppings, this is what I call adaptation. And I bet you return to that place quite often. Check with SUBWAY submarines (in North America), same approach. We told them their submarine bread was too soft and we wanted some crusty one. They got it.

I'm not so sure I'm on-board with this metaphor -- especially with how the price can go up for the more exotic varieties. 

I'd like to think of the driving motivation (for BA) as born more of novelty, ingenuity, and artistic vision, than of adaptation.  True, this site first appeared because there was a need unfulfilled elsewhere, and true, it's fair to say the third site that's been hinted at is appearing for the same reason (adaptation).  But still, if it can/must adapt to what some members want, then it can/must adapt to what any members want, even if that takes it in a direction many of us don't want.  Just look at the outcry over formatting (which may well be what you're getting at -- forgive me if I misread), let alone the extensive discussion on content.

Personally, I'd much prefer to leave the direction of this site firmly in the hands of those at the helm, so that what drives this site continues to be -- as much as possible and more than anything else -- its novelty, ingenuity, and artistic vision.

(and just to drive it home: there will always be microwave pizzas, but it's just not the same!)

True, PCelmo. Anybody is not everybody. And I dislike the thought that the person crying in the loudest way will be satisfied and the more silent ones will be overlooked...

I, for my part, belong to the traditionalists and hold my voice for the artistic aspect of this site. Nothing against adaptation, but not for the price of a change that *only* some of the members want.
