Now that I scroll back up a bit, I see SteelerFan did all the heavy lifting on finding the defenition...
Thanx nevertheless!
Is there also a word for people (like me) who prefer to use short words? I am not a friend of long-term constructions, which does not mean that I do not like people using them...

Mine is somewhat obvious: I possess a sybian, an eroscillator, a tens unit, and Eros Tek u nit among other devices to produce intense orgasms. I would love to see a beautiful agony induced by some of these. Perhaps I have already done so!

The least we can say about user's names is that members have a lot of imagination. They seem all to choose a user's name which is a sort of reflexion of themselves. Mine is no exception. One I like a lot is " lagoNY" which contains "agony" but implies she (I believe she is a girl) is from New York city or state.

Another great nick I just discovered...

Perhaps it could also mean: *Long ago NY* ... and he or she is living abroad now...
Who knows!

Agny, are you a girl? Agny reminds me of Agnetta, one of the girls of the Sweedish group ABBA. Did you hear about her and the group (ABBA)? One of the oldies but famous. Agnetta was blond and she was beautiful. "Take a chance on me" and "dancing queen" were among their best songs.

Mine is the name of a character from one of my favorite books, "We Have Always Lived in the Castle".

merricat, is Puss'n boots a character of that book? I love cats, I have 3 of them. Do you have any cat?

Nope, but I believe there is a Merricat in a story involving Puss'n boots!
I love cats too, I have three of them back in my hometown, unfortunately I don't get to live with them any longer because they're with my ex (but in good good care, so I'm happy). There names are Talulah, Fox, and MojoJojo.

Lots of power in a name... cats are usually feminine, always mysterious, always in control... especially after they run headlong into the patio door. i have two. Cats, not patio doors.

erdna, please quickly tell me that that beautiful Swedish blonde that I lusted after all those many years ago has a name that sounds sexy in Swedish. I am really having problems putting "Agnetta" to that face and hair -- at least, "Agnetta" as an American would pronounce it... please say it isn't so...

AFAIK it's pronounced something like "Ahnjetah" (Ah-nje-tah). Back in the seventies I also was a big fan oft the two ladies, but looking back at how they dressed in those days, I just can't stop laughing

Agny, of the beautiful website one (this one) could too easily get lost in, I think what you were saying is 'my name simply is Agny'. Just a nuance!

Oh... Awe, guys, I didn't know anyone was looking at the link I have in my sig. Thanks a lot for your kind words about my website, I am really nicely surprised. About my name, it is quite unique, but there are more and more who are named so. Answering your question about ABBA, yes of course I know them. Agnetta is a beautiful woman with a very sexy and nice sounding name. You've got to hear it. She use to buy cakes at a coffee-pastry shop I was working at some time ago. Very humble, kind, glad person. Her friend, Fridas grandmother name was Agny too, as a matter of fact. The name itself could be a mutation from Agnes, Agnis, Agne, Agnese, Agni, Agnus (Latin: lamb, Greek: pure, chaste). My second name of Agnieszka is actually kinda pole mutation of those names. Hihi... there's more, but I don't wanna bore you out. Thanks again for the nice surprice!

Yes, I agree... [ah-nyé-tah] would be something alike. If we talking about the way they were dressed, I say, it gave them a lot of popularity. And imagine only, theirs husbands had to be dressed the same way. They certainly seemd to enjoy it

Even so, after all these years I still think some of their songs wer pretty damn good.

I for one can't see anything particularly hilarious about it. They were glamorous clothes of their time, the wonderful 70s, a decade that had a million times more style than the naff 80s and 90s put together.
And Abba's music is superb, if you bother to listen to it properly.

Hey everybody, since I am not a linguist it would be difficult for me to tell you how to pronounce Agnetta in English but pinguin did it nicely.
According to show reporters, Agnetta of ABBA group had the most overwhelming rump of the whole show business at the time.
Agny you will never be boring for us. Are you on a picture in your site?
For the sunset pictures, one says the most beautiful ones can be seen in St Lawrence river estuary (from south shore) in Canada where the river is 50-100 km wide.

It just shows you how tastes can change. I also thought them very cool at the time, but I suspect you wouldn't wear those clothes today either. Having said that, I wouldn't be found dead in some of the clotes today's glitteraty consider fasionable either.

I never said anything to the contrary ("Chiquitita", "The day before you came", ...).
