Pagination not working?

When I search for, say 3400, using the search field at the bottom, it takes me to page 120 and correctly shows all contributions from 3398 to 3413.
However, if I click on 119 or on the page back button (<), I get what looks like a fairly random set of contributions (4730, 3921,4729, etc).
Is this a feature or a bug?

It's a feature bug!  The whole nav thing is pretty wretched, it's on our list to overhaul it.
