Major problems browsing and downloading

The site seems to grind to a halt for me relatively frequently. I'm from Australia.
Occasionally the site works fine, or loads but excruciatingly slowly. In these instances, download speeds top out at a but under 6kb/s or just fail completely.
The site can also just fail to load (error - timed out).
