Recoding
I've seen references to hold ups cause by 'recoding'. Can you tell me what that is?

That may entail converting a file from VHS or 8mm to digital files. Or maybe changing digital files (maybe .avi) to fit the format supported here (quicktime [which I hate, by the way] .wmv or .mpg.)
But I'm probably wrong. I have been every time I have made a guess lately.
