Orgasm as foreplay? I think so. Certainly from the perspective of some of the serene siren we so assiduously, um, study here, the Confession appears to be a bigger challenge than the "main event." Thus, for those contributors, the Agony may indeed be preparatory (so much for the subtle irony of my thread subject, having neutralized it in the first paragraph; already). This is a continuation of a thread (well, a switch) that's ongoing at IFM,

...a thread that seemed about to open a treasure chest of thoughts that could lead to an understanding of others' manner of interpreting the beauteous bounty before us (if not out-and-out juicy revelations about the kinky ways of our fellows). Things like order of viewing -- say, Confession first then Agony (which seems more common than I'd have thought), and whether the lack of a mated Confession automatically biases one's view of the Agony, and why.
A couple interesting old threads already touched on much of this:

For background I did a spectacularly unscientific study which revealed that there are only four Confessions within the first 200 Agonies, and Confessions did not become prolific until about BA #0360.
I think this is a powerfully pregnant subject to bang around (ah, sorry, these things just happen -- English is so malleable), and since those other threads offer a nice head start, I'd like to just go with my own personal perspective by way of example and indulge in describing my experience with two agonettes I've deemed unforgettable (and maybe others will share thoughts similarly -- that's my hope, it should be fun and informative):
C0618: I find Ms0618's Agony and Confession eminently reconcilable [But, I shout, so what if any such pair are not -- a moving Confession is a damned wonderful thing unto itself]. This lady's Confession captivates, and I must admit to a little nostalgia during my view of this one, as I find it pleasant that she reminds me of, um, well: I've had two enduring relationships with women who I expected, at first, to be intellectually pulverized by in the first round, but managed to fight to a deliriously satisfying draw.
C0299 (Ms0299), and "Gabrielle" on AW, so I read here somewhere: This is one Confession that is no less intimate than any Agony you'll find on this bounteous site. What a deliciously soulful woman! Is this not a scorchingly lyrical conversation by Gabrielle? As she spoke, I could feel her warm breath wafting gently against my grateful face -- so very close must this startlingly personal movie bring her to any viewer who holds a mere modicum of attentive rapture. And all this notwithstanding her very own stratospheric petite mort. I'm transfixed by the Aussie (I'm American) accents that abound here, but Gabrielle seems British, yes? Oh well, Rule, Britannia! In summary, Gabrielle's Agony and Confession fit together, for me, like hand and glove.
Regarding my viewing sequence, almost always the Agony comes first (oh bugger, it's so bluudy difficult to avoid lousy puns around here). My ravenous appetite during the first few days of subscribership (a mere two weeks ago) had me skipping Confessions, thus promoting subsequent remedial backtracking to the Confessions after devouring batches of a dozen or so petites mort. Often I experience a kind of dissonance between my impression of the Confession and its corresponding Agony (I don't perceive one as "better" than the other, but often it's as if I'm viewing two different people). I'm sometimes mildly influenced -- and only initially (self-delusion alarm sounds) -- by appearance (makeup, angle, and lighting often differ profoundly).
As for simultaneous publishing of the Confession versus a deferred interview or Overkill feature: This is where I'd find some challenge, particularly with agonettes I have a crush on. If BA were to suddenly publish a spoken Overkill by Ms0016, or one by Nikie (Ms0358), I would not jump to view them. I've developed a particular image of these two mesmerizing mermaids that I'm enjoying immensely (I think it's referred to as "fantasy," but, please, a professional man shouldn't, um, ahem), and I want it to persist. There are other strikingly winsome waifs I have in mind and would hope to be indulged some day to write about: Lia, Laetitia, Minka (Ms0452, Ms0128, Ms0343 respectively). The former two are prolific with their confessions, interviews, and lucubrations (all of which I consumed contemporaneously while viewing their feature movies, so my image is surely a composite in these cases). Like Ms0016 and the nixie Nikie, the balletic and graceful Minka is another "silent" one. I'd not wish to view something that could shred my very own Minka enigma. I value the mysteries that these intriguing websites conjure, whether by design or not (hmmmn, a whole 'nother monster subject over which to wank wistfully).
