Video Shooting Tips

So a good friend of mine is interested in submitting Beautiful Agony videos. However she doesn’t really know how to get a good top-down shot. What is the best way to shoot the top-down videos that are common on this site?

Some tripods can shoot this exact angle. You just lay between the three legs. These videos can also be done by propping your back up against the wall or sitting on the edge of a chair or a bed

So the tripod would stand on the bed then? Wouldn’t that be a little unstable?

Yes that's why so many people do it on the floor   You can get cheap phone tripods on Ebay or Amazon, they have flexible legs that you can wrap around a broom handle, chair leg etc.  So with a little creativity you can hang them over a bed.

Magnus sells some great, cheap tripods for cameras with phone adapters that extend to a height 66.7" (~170 cm). I'd recommend the PV-3330G: lots of space between the legs, easy to use, good durability for the price.
