Last night, being bored without much hormonal influence and devoid of anything to fill my bandwidth, I decided to test out the new BA site. For whatever reason I ended up going through all the confessions. Interesting, but nothing overwhelming.
Then the insomnia hit.
Sometime in the early morning something woke me and I was unable to go back to sleep. As I lay there, I started going through the confessions in my mind and something occurred to me: agonies represent a part of our human universal language. I remember when I was very young and taking German lessons I thought, sure, people speak German, but they think in English. It wasn't for a few years that I realized the process was quite the reverse; our internal dialogue mechanism runs in whatever our native tongue happens to be and the language that we speak generally passes through a filter before it's spoken, especially when we're speaking a non-native language. Some things supercede this concept, but never completely. People of different nationalities laugh differently, express emotions differently, eat differently, play music differently. I would normally define these as elements of a universal language, but if someone can tell what your culture is by the way you laugh, how universal is it really? But here at BA I see that there is a language that no one can place nationality on: the orgasm. I find myself subconsciously returning to that childish thought that each agonee I watch is American, and then suffering a momentary surprise when I watch interviews or confessions and hearing other accents. It occurs to me that in the realms of sexuality we see expressed on this site there is no linguistic response. The agonies touch us in a way that transcends any unique communicational tendencies and cuts right to something we need no language to understand.
If that's not the universal human language, I don't know what is.

shuuki, in case of insomnia, the next time, do what agonees are doing. If you are a girl then go and "polish the marble". If you are a guy then "choke the chicken". I agree with you when you say, orgasm is the universal language and a beautiful one. The difference however seems to come with the degree of sexual freedom the agonee feels which can be quite different from an individual to another but also is related with the family or country permissiveness.

I certainly considered that one, erdna, but since it had been just a few hours since my last "agony" I was retiscent to throw myself back into that state. It's a good point you bring up though... different cultures do place different weights and values on our sexual expression; some of the strongest of all human restrictions. I find it interesting that when the cards are down, all those concepts go away and are replaced with that universal concept of orgasm. Though perhaps my sleepless state was giving me a philosophical perspective on the subject I'd otherwise avoid.

shuuki, you don't have to be reticent about using one of the best way to have a good sleep. Just your body will tell you when it's enough. I still don't know if you are a guy or a girl. I just have a slight idea.BTW I am a guy. Anytime for a good conversation.
