On looking 'quite worried:' Well yes, you do (which is part of the wonder). I would say apprehensive or anxious. I have long felt that just as the orgasm is an exquisite blend of pleasure and pain, there is (maybe only) a fleeting moment of a sort of fear or anxiety. The experience never fails to overwhelm, even mystify us, and part of the ecstasy of it all is that sense of loosing control. Something frightening for all of us. . . . No matter how many we’ve already had each new one seems to take us into the unknown. Enough to cause anyone to look ‘quite worried.’ (I wonder if orgasm has ever really been described. Or is it ultimately beyond description?) I know a woman who describes it as feeling like there is a freight train straining to get out of her body. . . . D

Falseshuffler- Your woman friend who compared orgasms to a freight train straining to get out of her body is pretty accurate. BUT....I would use a different comparison to my orgasms. When I close my eyes I feel as if I am leading up to a cliff, the feeling of your heart in your throat and dizziness as you look over the edge. The build up of adrenaline as you prepare to jump builds and builds the more you count down to orgasm. In climax you fall but there is that comfort and release because you never land.

Awww don't be sorry Lila I don't consider it as being deceived, just a bit of friendly teasing... Something to keep my interest up, and to keep me coming back I will be watching and waiting for the IFM video...

I started reading the poem knowing I had heard or seen it before, but it didn't hit me until the last line why I knew it... Leonard Cohen is one of my fav artists as well as a fellow Canuck... I Love his Lyrics, the gypsy melodies in some of the songs, and the blend of his gravelly voice and the beautiful voices of the Bell Sisters and whatever other female artists he uses to back him up... I don't know if you've ever seen or watch Criminal Minds, but over the years that show has used at least 4 of Cohen's songs as background themes thru the show...

I'm both excited and nervous for my IFM to go up! I haven't seen it yet so it's all new to me!

Discard the violin is another gem of Cohen's but if we are talking absolute favorite musicians/ songwriters Neil Young is my man. He just is amazing.

Much more than an amusing limerick kinda' girl, indeed! While I did write that in limerick form, I intended it to encapsulate a genuine compliment. I like to write 'thoughtful thoughts' as limericks. But as my mother used to tell me, 'You get just a little too clever for your own good.' May I offer another verse from a longer poem:

You touched with loveliness and awe
A day fit but to rue.
And fanned alive the wintery stone-cold heart
And made it new.

The gingerbread airplane sounds super. I remember making gingerbread houses. They came as kits. The airplane sounds much more creative.

Blackjack can be fun depending on who you're with and provided you don't exceed the betting limit you set for yourself. . . . But I've seen grown men break down and cry over that game. . . . If you ever decide to try it, go (to the casino) with someone you know and who knows the game. They can help you. A good dealer will help a novice, too. Stick to a low (no more than $5/hand) table, and plan to have a good time with whomever you go with, and maybe some fun and friendly people you may meet at the table. Go by what a good evening's entertainment would cost you (say $100) and make that your limit. If you win a few bucks, great! If you don't, it will have only cost you a night on the town. Good Luck!

(I pretty well put myself through college playing blackjack, but that was before they outlawed what's called 'card counting.' But I still enjoy the game. Yesterday I managed to break even.). . . . Carpe Diem, D
