First-time subscription

Hi,

I'm pleasantly surprised by the beauty and sheer sexiness of Beautiful Agony and would like to subscribe. I'm a bit afraid though of the possible ''consequences'':

- What if that cute girl at the bank notices that I've got GMBill.com on my credit card history?
- What if my extensive online identity can somehow be linked to this subscription?
- Why do I have to submit my address during subscription?

I don't think there's anything wrong with porn, but would try to prevent other people from making the connection

Any thoughts on this?

Joe,

Why des thhe gender or apearance of the person seeing the GMbill charge on your credit card matter?

For most banks, credit cards are handled in a central location, sometimes even a different division; often the tellers at a branch have no access to your credit card information.

Banks processes millions (tens of millions? hundreds of millions?) of credit card transactions; very few of them are ever seen by a person. And it's unlikely anyone goes looking for such charges.

"Extensive onliine identity?" Surely you can use an unrelated username here, and set up an email account at somewhere like yahooo or google or hotmail to be used strictly for this web site.

Your username appears here and in the Overkill comments section but your email address is never shown. Well, there may be an option in Forum to make it available but I'm pretty sure the default is to hide it.

Why you have to give an email address is something only the administrators can answer, but I think if you take a few simple steps it's easy to protect your "extensive online identiity" from being likned to this site.

It doesn't matter, but the girl that serves me at the bank really is a cute one.

She'll know you're a man of taste and good judgement. Er, but, the cute girls at the bank don't get your credit card history every time you go tto cash your paycheque. They would have to look very hard. Do you really think you're that important to them? Do you really think they know who GMBill.com is? Here, try this experiment - go into the bank and ask the cute girl to pull up credit card transaction from a week ago. Or yesterday, or last month, it doesn't matter. I bet you she can't. Now tell her the exact date, the place you spent the money, and throw in the transaction number - did it help? Of course not, banks are never that efficient, except at debt recovery.

Please, don't interpret it that way, I have the greatest respect for you people for realizing such a great project. I'm quite a shy and reserved person, and even though I like to think of myself as a rational and critically-thinking guy those feelings often have a bit of a will of their own.

Well, I've been pleasantly surprised indeed, this really is one damn fine site! And friendly, intelligent people on the boards too! I'm being spoiled. Quite refreshing after too many years of slashdot
