I tried an email over the weekend but am unsure if it got through. I can convert your videos to 3-D. The only catch is you need 3-d glasses which are free form many 3d websites. Your members might enjoy the 3-D illusion when it looks like the person is really in front of you rather than just a flat screen.

What an interesting idea! 6bobby9, have got any links to these 3d websites you mention?

There are quite a few. Do a search on 'free 3d galsses'. Most only ask for a self addressed stamped envelop. Others who require payment sell them for around $1. My 3d-conversion site www.3d-amateur.com has a link to one.

We received the email, but we also know where the 3D tool is in Photoshop!

Hmmm. Photoshop 3D? I'm almost insulted! We're talking apples and oranges. As good as photoshop is...3D is not it's thing. It's focused around cartoonish still photos and is limited to only seven layers of depth. The key to realistic 3D conversions is Depth Map Image Proceessing based on mathmatical algorithms providing highly accurate depth with an infinte amount of layers. Most of my competitors do a really nice job but charge $20 to $300 because they still convert by hand spending 30 minutes to 2 hours on a single picture. I know cuz I've done it. For now I'm one step ahead because I've always been good at math and created the algorithms. My proprietary program can convert images in seconds and videos with 10,000 frames in less than an hour. Your videos for instance average 4-5000 frames. Can photoshop do videos anyways? I think not. Visit
http://www.cbtcafe.com/photoshop/3dtutorial/index.html
to see what photoshop 3d really does. Besides, if photoshop could do REAL 3D easily don't you think we'd see more of it?

If the admin allows it I will.

Richard,
You're getting more and more of these thinly veiled adverts in the forum. Don't you hate spam?
You should visit, www.WhoSpamsTheSpamers.com to make them pay for daring to spam your forums. Our product not only finds the IP address of the spamer, it also bans them from the whole internet, and calls the police to their house (usually they still live with their parents, how embarrassing). We even have legal counsel on staff to press charges against them. All without you lifting anything but your mousing finger. Visit www.WhoSpamsTheSpamers.com today!

What a bunch of crap Iso. Don' tell me you wouldn't want to see these in 3d. Well at any rate... I will keep the conversions for my own personal use as I always have. Anybody who wished to see them can thank Iso for making this probably impossible now. What a jerk.

Now now, okay let's put it to the test - choose an Agony and we'll put it to the gallery. I have a pair of 3-D specs which came with Bizarre mag a couple of years ago. For others, will ordinary cellophane do?

Well when you bring in your Agony Ell, I'll be only too pleased to model them for you.

Very well. Keep in mind that the quality of the conversion is based upon the resolution it is created from. I will use the 294 one of my favorites and the newest video released today in the members area which is optimized mostly for size/bandwidth. Keep in mind that a higher quality original will result in a high quality conversion. Best results are achieved in full screen mode. As far as glasses go, standard red/blue glasses are the cheapest & easiest to come by. I got my last pair from a Spy Kids 3-D DVD.

I agree to Iso. And have to say that I also dislike the posting of such advertising links (and true: unfortunately they are getting more and more!).
Nothing against 6bobby9's achievement concerning the conversion, but it seems to be fishing for compliments... and degrades his own achievement. What a shame.

Yeah, everyone should definitely blame me for 6bobby9's hypersenitivity.
I'm not denegrating your achievement on a technical level. And I didn't say, I didn't want to see them - though I don't have a set of 3d glasses, so I'm SOL on this one.
What I did was say that your post was spam. That is to say, posting a description of your product and your website URL to public forum is advertising. Since you are doing this using someone else's website without prior request, consent, or remuneration, it fits my definition of spam.
Can we get a verdict from someone aside from 6bobby9? Does it add new depth (pun intended) to the experience?
PS: 6bobby9, because I don't hate you, I offer you this piece of advice: you'll probably want to take those vids down in a couple days or you'll get swamped by freeloaders (get Richard to tell you what percentage of BA's bandwidth was being used streaming the free samples before they cut it down to one sample available at a time).

Meh, the effect didn't work on me, although the effect works when I look at more traditional 3d prints. I think a close-up of a face doesn't lend itself well to red-blue 3d since there aren't enough sharply defined edges at varying distances from the viewer.

My, my. So much aggressiveness, so much negativity.
I already posted a verdict, it's up there - are you actually interested in reading it?
Great stuff, 6bobby9.

nonaplume,
Thank you for your critique. Yes. Faces are difficult. A higher resolution original to convert from is needed to bring out the definition. With that being said, viewing a small 3" X 3" window is also difficult due to possilbe background 'noise' off the computer sreen. I usually simulate a movie theatre and view in full screen, change my backround to black, and turn the lights off. Therefore, eliminating any 'noise' which could dull the 3-d illusion. The red/blue 3d is the most feasible in this instance simply due to $$. I have seven other formats I could convert to but the viewing glasses for these range from $50-$150.
Iso- I appreciate your suggestion. The vids will be up for another day or so and then the admin can decide if they want to use them on their own site. I will be available to convert more at their request.
Thanks To All

Would that involve polarising filters? You can get cheap ones for probably less than the lowest figure you quote (is that US$ or A$?).

I have not mastered Polarizing yet. I have about a 50% yield with this method. The prices that I quoted for other glasses were just off the cuff. I don't really know as their pricing fluctuates based upon competitors but I'd be suprised to find shutter glasses for less than $30US; and would question the quailty and durabilty if I did. I figure most people would rather spend money on collecting images and video rather than fragile high-end glasses. I personally have no desire to support them as long as I continue to find the red/blue glasse for free from several different websites.
